It's official, yesterday in a wet & windy Edinburgh Disabled Access Day 2016 launched. We really couldn't be more excited as more than 50 venues across the UK have already signed up to hold events on 12th March 2016!
To help us celebrate and officially launch Disabled Access Day yesterday Maureen Watt MSP, Minister for Public Health, Euan MacDonald Co-Founder of Euan's Guide and Chris McCoy, Head of Accessible Tourism at VisitScotland joined us at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, pictured above.
There are so many exciting venues that have signed up to hold events on the day that we can't list them all here, but one thing is for sure; it's gearing up to be an action packed day for everyone involved! Because we're so excited and it's #ThrowBackThursday, we thought we would ask you to share your memories of Disabled Access Day on social media from earlier this year using #TBTAccessDay to help us spread the word.
Have you signed up yet?
With so many exciting venues signed up for Disabled Access Day 2016 you really don't want to be the odd one out!
If you're not sure about signing up check out Trizia's blog here; Trizia is the Inclusion Manager at The Eureka! Museum. The museum was involved in Disabled Access Day earlier this year and has received recognition and awards for their accessibility, they're now busy making plans for Disabled Access Day 2016.
