Historic Environment Scotland Sites

Following the Scottish Government’s announcement that all of mainland Scotland will be moving to COVID protection level 4, at a minute past midnight on Saturday 26 December, Historic Environment Scotland (HES) closed all of their visitor attractions in these areas from 4pm on Wednesday 23 December.
The ticketed sites in Fife affected are:
- Aberdour Castle
- Dunfermline Abbey Nave
- St Andrews Castle
- St Andrews Cathedral
In addition to the sites mentioned above, HES will be closing all of their unstaffed and key keeper sites on the mainland during this time as well.
HES apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of their staff and visitors is paramount.
HES hope to be able to reopen these sites in line with Scottish Government advice when it’s safe to do so. Please check their website and social media channels for updates.
