Is your business eligible for a broadband grant? Check now

Thu 31 Jul 14

For a limited time, the City of Edinburgh Council is awarding vouchers to small and medium sized businesses, charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit enterprises.

If your business is located within 5 miles of the Edinburgh/Fife boundaries you could be eligible for this funding.

The voucher is a grant of between £200 and £3,000 to pay for the installation costs of a faster more reliable internet connection.

It's a grant not a loan, so you don't have to pay it back. Your business just pays the VAT, any amount over £3,000, and the monthly subscription cost.
A grant can be for a single enterprise (including a business run from home), or several enterprises can apply as a group. Landlords or agents can apply on behalf of a group that rent the same premises.
Why go faster?

There are real benefits for your business in taking a fast connection – how you use it will be unique to the way you do business. You could find:
• Better communication with customers and staff
• Reduced costs through more efficient working
• Improved data storage and accessibility
• Higher speed upload and download for large files
• Improved reliability of service
