The 4-webinar series will focus on increasing the employability of Young People and improving their pre-and post-employment journey in a post Covid world. The webinars will raise awareness of current and emerging best practice, stimulate discussion, and provide practical tools and action planning for delegates to take back into their own workspaces. Our facilitator, Nicola Dillon has a wealth of knowledge in this field and created the new Investors in Young People Employer Framework on behalf of Remarkable, following consultation with Young People and Stakeholders across Scotland. Nicola describes Young People as her greater mentor.

The Attraction and Recruitment of Young People Webinar is aimed at employers new to attracting Young People and employers who recruit Young People who are looking to gain an insight into emerging best practice. Key features will include; Young People strategy; being an employer of choice for Young People and creating an inviting employment proposition; attraction strategies; preparing Young People for the world of work; making connections with the Meta skills Young People are learning in education with the world of work; opportunities through the apprenticeship family and other work-based learning opportunities; engaging with youth employment and specialist agencies to provide placement and employment opportunities for Young People who face barriers to work and Fair Equal and Inclusive selection and recruitment methods. There will also be opportunities for several smaller break-out groups to share best practice and insights to take back to your organisation and to support action planning.

The leading and Developing Young People Webinar is aimed at employers new to leading and developing Young People and employers who currently lead and develop Young People and are looking to gain an insight into emerging best practice. Key features will include effective onboarding; creating stimulating work-based learning, training, and upskilling opportunities; effective coaching and mentoring; supporting Young People to develop key meta skills to adapt to the ever-changing world of work; learning and communication styles; wider learning and business education; leadership and role model capabilities to develop Young People; developing a growth mindset; reverse mentoring; supporting mental health and financial wellbeing and effective and regular real time feedback. There will also be opportunities for several smaller break-out groups to share best practice and insights to take back to your organisation and to support action planning.

The Retaining Young People Webinar is aimed at employers who are looking to gain an insight into emerging best practice around the retention of Young People. Key features will include common challenges around retention; creating a culture of psychological safety to support Young People to learn, flourish and maximise their pull potential; stay interviews; career mentoring and talent management; generational harmony; celebrating success; capturing success metrics; providing Young People with a voice to influence Youth employment & Fair Work practices, sector challenges and drive community engagement initiatives. There will also be opportunities for several smaller break-out groups to share best practice and insights to take back to your organisation and to support action planning.

During The Voice of the Young Person session you will hear from a panel of Young People in high performing organisations around the themes of attraction, recruitment, development, and retention of Young People.

Many of the Young People in the organisations we work with have a voice to shape their organisations youth employment practices, sector and industry challenges and drive community engagement initiatives like climate change, Fair work and a Covid recovery. This is your opportunity to hear from a number of inspiring Young People who have been nurtured and supported to maximize their full potential, make an impact and have a voice to shape change.

We will also be sharing a range of practical tools and sources of referral to support you to attract, recruit, develop and retain Young People.
